April 13 - Most of the news I've gotten from the doctors since my initial report has been good news. I've seen two doctor's since I emailed you and both think it's unlikely that this will turn out to be cancerous (mostly due to my age). I'm having surgery tomorrow to have the mass removed and I should find out exactly what it is after surgery. My doctor is planning to do an outpatient surgery, but because of the size of the mass he isn't sure he can remove it that way. So I may end up being admitted to the hospital for a few days to recover.
Sadly, I have found myself trusting more in the doctors than in the Lord when I hear good news. I've taken it as if it was never a serious problem that God needed to get involved in, rather than recognizing that all the good news I've received has come after much prayer. But I am certain that my God who is mighty to save has also certainly acted on my behalf through all this... even if the only thing He did was to help me loosen my grip on this world.
