My friend, Leslie, who battled - and won! - colon cancer, rewrote Psalm 23 during her treatment. I have LOVED it, as I have loved knowing her through this. I've enjoyed reading her blog as I prepare for the days ahead.
The Lord is my Physician; I shall not fear.
He makes me lie down peacefully at night.
He leads me through still moments.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in the paths of doctors and nurses for His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of the unknown,
I will fear no cancer, for you are with me;
Your love and character, they comfort me.
You prepare a celebration before me in the presence of a test result;
You anoint my body with peace;
My heart overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
