Ski Retreat
We are having our annual ski trip this coming weekend in Boone, North Carolina. There will be a few opportunities for students to hear the gospel and how to grow as a Christian during the weekend. Unfortunately, the soccer team has a game this weekend and they won’t be able to come… But I’m still looking forward to spending time with some of the students I don’t normally get time with, and of course to go snowboarding!
Discipleship
In our discipleship group we are working through Tim Keller’s study on Galatians while studying the book of Galatians and reading through the book of Romans. We are also reading the book “Master Plan of Evangelism.” So far, we’ve been focusing on deepening our understanding of the Word and on leading others by the Word. Four of us in the group are also meeting individually with a younger believer to lead them through the Galatians study.
Last month we all met together – my discipleship group and the women they’re meeting with – and we shared our testimonies with each other. It was a really fun time to remember what God has done and to be together!
Robin And Her Team
Many of you may remember Robin, who I met with in a discipleship group for 2 years. Since she’s the only one left in school from that group, I’ve been meeting with her in a different capacity. She has begun a ministry team with 2 girls in the Corps of Cadets. This past week, they started an investigative Bible Study for women in the Corps… This is so cool because as far as I know, nothing like that has ever been offered in the Corps here!
To help give Robin more time to lead the Corps Bible Study, I’ve been helping the girls in her discipleship group to start an investigative Bible Study on one of the halls in the freshman dorm. Over the next few weeks I’ll be handing it off to them to lead and supporting them as the reach out to the girls in the dorms. We had a first one this past week and it was fun watching them get so excited about reaching out to the freshman girls.
CCP: South Africa
We have our team of students that will be going this summer! Two girls, Kelsey and Lauren, from my discipleship group will be going – so I am quite excited! There are 19 students that have committed to go and 11 of them are from NGCSU.
Pray, Pray, Pray!
I’m pulling off campus quite a bit to work on raising more support. Please pray with me:
- That the Lord will provide abundantly and quickly
- That He would continue to work in these students lives in my absence
- That He would grant me courage, patience and faith in Christ
